🔶Background：
We are pleased to announce the launch of our public beta app after months of preparation and internal testing by our community. The app will be available for download from the official app market.
This document provides more information about the features offered in our public beta, our testing plans, and how you can participate in, become part of our community, and contribute to the reshaping of reading and content interaction experience in the Web3 world.
FYI: The current version is a non-wipe beta test! We welcome your feedback and suggestions wherever you can provide them.
Disclaimer: The content in the introduction document may change as the testing progresses, and what you see is not the final version!
🔶Summary：
In the first version of the public beta, we have mainly updated the following sections:
- Login and Registration process
- Article List and Detail Page
- Topic Square
- Personal Center and SBT
- Wallet
We will introduce the basic content covered by these sections below. The blank parts of the app will be updated in subsequent versions.
🔶Log in/Sign in
A smooth, convenient, and secure login and registration process is crucial for any project. ReadON adopts Particle auth as the login and wallet creation method to make it easier for users to join the Web3 community. This method allows users to log in and create a wallet using traditional Web2 methods, which reduces the cost and complexity of using a traditional wallet. Additionally, Particle wallet offers full Web3 wallet services and protection for your assets.
After logging in, you will have completed the wallet creation process. The specific use of the wallet will be explained in detail in the wallet section.
Because the ReadON community is open to users from all around the world, we ask you to choose your preferred app language and theme first so we can provide better services. The app currently supports four languages: English, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. It also has two different theme versions: dark and light. We will support more app languages in the future to give you a better experience!
We will also guide you to choose topics that you may be interested in. Topics are an important part of the ReadON community, and we invite users to help us enrich our topic composition.
In the third step, you will be asked to mint an SBT that belongs to your current wallet address. This is a non-transferable and non-tradable NFT asset. Your achievements and experience in ReadON will be recorded on the SBT and saved on-chain, making it your unique identity in ReadON.
🔶Contents Feed/Read
One of the core concepts of ReadON is the reading experience. We will provide you with high-quality content we gather from various sources, translated into different languages for the betterment of your reading experience. This way you can enjoy learning and benefit too.
🔹Content feed:
The goal of the topic list page is to allow you to easily find contents that suit your interests.
🔹Topic tab:
The topic tab is personalized and changes based on your reading and following behaviors. All available topics are displayed in this tab. You can right-swipe and click to select and switch tabs.
For you: This is your personal recommendation feed, which suggests content that you may like and displays timelines.
🔹Feed:
In addition to the necessary information in the article, we have also added a hotness attribute to some articles through our own analysis system to facilitate users’ decisions on whether to click. At the same time, there will be a split of the hotness in the article details page to mark the spread of the article. Besides, we use a classification system to pre-classify the contents of the article to facilitate users to choose the desired content.
🔹Assets:
In the Assets section, we will display the number of points you have in your assets and update this information each time you visit. This will help you easily track your earnings from reading articles.
🔹Avatars:
In the Avatars section, currently, you can only use official emojis as your avatar. After clicking, you will be taken to your personal center page where we will display your personal data and contents related to you.
🔹Read:
The various components of Read will help you improve your reading skills and earn from it.
🔹Title bar:
We have added many comments to the title bar to help you quickly understand the overall contents of the article. These comments include the article’s popularity statistics on each platform, the posting time and the estimated reading time they would take, whether the article has been machine-translated, and the address of the article’s contract on-chain.
🔹Timer:
The timer will only record the user’s ‘true’ reading time (as defined in the white paper), with a minimum unit of 30 seconds. For every 30 seconds of completed reading, the timer will complete a rotation and pay out revenue for the user. Don’t worry if you don’t read for a full 30 seconds — this time will continue to be accumulated in the next reading behavior.
🔹Personal stats:
Your reading speed is closely related to the status of your SBT. Click on the timer to see the current value and status of your personal SBT.
🔹Operations:
We encourage users to interact with the content and our system and provide feedback. You will find feedback options such as “like”, “dislike” and “Mark as irrelevant to the topic”. We hope to improve our recommendation and article categorization system through user-initiated interaction data.
In addition, users can bookmark articles for later viewing or share the ReadON article link with their friends.
If you feel that the language of the article does not match your reading habits, you can also adjust the language of the article at any time. We offer a variety of translated text to choose from, or you can choose to read the original text if the translation is not perfect.
🔹Comments:
The first step in building a community for ReadON is to provide a feedback section for users on articles. Once you reach a certain level in the community, you can comment on articles and engage with other users on their feedback.
We have added comments from various sources to enhance the comments section and have attempted to integrate feedback from all users on the same piece of content.
Posting informative comments and receiving likes or comments from others will earn you additional experience and points.
🔶Topics Square
We hope to build better user communities or organizations based on topics in the future, and the current topic square is the prototype of this idea.

We display the real number of followers of each topic, which may indicate the popularity of the topic and will become the key to the community in the future.”
🔶Nfts Warehouse/Nft/Marketplace
We will retain this feature temporarily and release it in future updates. Keep an eye on our community and white paper for further details.

🔶Wallet/Assets
ReadON supports the Particle Wallet Service that allows for all the regular functions of a wallet, including viewing the balance and quantity of assets, conducting transfers, and viewing transfer records, etc.
🔹Assets:
You can manage your in-app tokens in your Assets tab. Here, you can conveniently see and settle your earnings, withdraw and transfer to your wallet. It will only allow the transfer and transactions of certain token types and will also display some non-chain and non-tradable properties.
🔹Wallet:
ReadON integrates with the Particle wallet service and supports the normal functions of a wallet within the ReadON app, including viewing the balance or quantity of assets associated with ReadON, viewing transfer records, performing transfers, etc.
🔶Personal Center
The Personal Center is one of the areas where the user’s assets and earnings are displayed, and where we perform some operations related to the user’s personal information and account, including following, browsing history, favorites, accumulated reading time, etc.
🔹Profiles:
You can change your nickname at any time by clicking on the nickname section or clicking on the avatar section to replace the default system avatar according to your mood that day.
Likes, views, and favorites correspond to different article lists to make it easy for you to revisit high-quality content. However, if you spend too much time reading a single article, you may not receive experience value for it.
🔹Daily reading time:
When the outer circle is filled up (i.e. when the reading time reaches the limit of effective reading time), you will no longer get experience value for reading that day (in your mobile time zone).
🔹Daily quest:
The daily quest feature allows you to complete tasks and earn rewards. The tasks and rewards may vary from day to day.

From here you can update your nickname and avatar.
🔹Language:
You can customize your preferred app language. The app language is unique, and your reading language preferences will change when you switch languages.
For example, if you are able to read Chinese and English text at the same time, you can choose to display both Chinese and English text content. This way, you can swipe through both English and Chinese content in the feed. If you are more used to reading English, you can simply turn on the English option.
When you turn on the translation switch, your feed stream will appear with text from other languages translated into your preferred language. For example, if you only choose English, you may see some Chinese articles translated into English. These articles will have a label indicating that they are translated (translated articles will only appear when their original language is not your preferred language).
🔹Appearance:
You can choose your application theme here. We currently offer both dark and light versions, or you can choose to have the theme automatically follow the system settings.
🔹App version:
Click on the app version to check if it is the latest version. If there is a new version available, it will lead you to the app store where you can update it.
🔹SBT/Experience:
Experience is closely related to the effective reading time you have accumulated in the ReadON community. The longer your effective reading time, the higher your experience will be.
The total experience is actually the sum of the user’s experience in different topics. The topic experience represents the effective reading time a user has spent on different topics, which also indirectly reflects the user’s commitment and interest in those topics. As mentioned earlier, the experience and rank of a sub-topic will also affect a user’s rights and privileges in different topic communities.
🔹On-chain information：
ReadON Archive will support the verification of all on-chain assets associated with ReadON, including certificates of reputation, certificates of activity, and assets of benefit.
Through cross-chain and cross-platform asset aggregation, ReadON Archive will become the soul profile of users in the Web3 content ecosystem.
